2-MIX engine technoogy for excellent efficiency
1-in-4 channel technology and advanced combustion provides high torque over a wide speed range and highly efficient performance. This chainsaw benefits from fuel savings of up to 20 percent compared to STIHL 2-stroke engines without the 2-MIX technology, and exhaust emissions cut by up to half. The Ematic chain lubrication system that the MS 181 uses not only results in maxmium lubrication and longer wear than conventional lubrication methods, it reduces bar oil consumption by up to half.
Robust & durable build quality
A long-life air filtration system with pre-separation achieves perceptibly longer filter life compared with conventional systems. Thanks to the compensator in the carburettor, the fuel-air mixture is maintained as the air filter becomes clogged, keeping the ratio and engine power constant. The filter only needs to be cleaned once an appreciable drop in power can be noticed.
Comfortable, simple operation
Vibrations at the handles are significantly reduced thanks to STIHL’s anti-vibration system. This dampens the engine oscillations to increase user comfort and reduce fatigue when using the saw for long periods. Oil and fuel filler caps are easily opened and closed without tools, and the tensioning screw is helpfully located on the side of the machine, removing the need to touch the sharp saw chain. All the MS 181’s important controls are located on a single operating lever, resulting in easy use at all times.
