STIHL’s intelligent M-Tronic self-tuning engine management system sets this tool apart from the crowd. With a choice of 15 inch (37 cm), 16 inch (40 cm) or 18 inch (45 cm) bar lengths available.
Consistent performance
The M-Tronic system ensures consistent engine performance, a constant maximum speed and superb acceleration by adjusting ignition timing and fuel metering, while taking external conditions such as temperature, altitude and fuel quality into account. It has electronic cold/warm start recognition, meaning only one start position is needed on the combi-lever. The engine can start up after fewer pulls and can immediately accelerate up to speed.
Robust, durable & intelligent design
This machine uses a HD2 filter, made from polyethylene filter material with up to 70 percent finer pores than fleece and polyamide filters to trap even very fine dust. It is oil and water repellent and so is very easy to clean, while the PET-covered filter cartridge has a quick release lock which means the filter can be assembled and disassembled simply and without using tools. Because this tool uses a pre-separation air filtration system, perceptibly longer filter life is also achieved. The Ematic chain lubrication system is also present, providing maximum lubrication, longer wear and less oil consumption than conventional methods.
A comfortable & efficient machine
Lower fuel consumption and lower emissions come as a result of STIHL’s 2-MIX engine technology. Thanks to tool free oil and fuel filler caps, the MS 261 C-M is easy to top up without hassle and minimal spillages. The chain tensioning screw is located on the side of the unit through the sprocket cover, removing the need for contact with the sharp saw chain, while ElastoStart reduces the shock caused by the compression of the engine during starting for more comfortable operation. Similarly, an anti-vibration system reduces the level of vibrations at the handles so that you can use the machine for longer without getting tired.
