With STIHL’s M-Tronic Engine Management

M-Tronic engine management is a fully electronic system that adjusts ignition timing and fuel metering, taking into account external conditions such as temperature, fuel quality and altitude to ensure consistent engine performance, a constant maximum speed and superb acceleration. Because M-Tronic has electronic cold and warm start recognition, only one start position is needed on the combi lever and you can apply full throttle straight away, even with a cold start. 

Comfortable & simple to operate

STIHL’s anti-vibration technology is present in this saw to ensure that vibrations at the unit’s handles are significantly reduced. This works by effectively dampening the engine oscillations, so you can work for longer without getting tired. A decompression valve and the ElastoStart system reduce the shock caused by the compression of the engine during starting and ensure less effort is needed to pull the starter cord and get going. The chain tensioner is conveniently and safely located on the side of the machine, and tool-free filler caps take the hassle out of topping up.

Robust, durable & efficient

This saw uses the Ematic chain lubrication system, which provides longer wear with maximum lubrication and reduces bar oil consumption by up to 50 percent. A variable-displacement oil pump also helps with oil consumption, and STIHL’s 2-MIX engine technology works to cut fuel consumption by up to 20 percent and emissions by up to 50 percent compared to 2-stroke engines that do not use the 2-MIX system. This model uses an easy-clean HD2 filter, which protects against even very fine particles while being hassle-free to maintain
