The MS 251 is a top-range saw, suitable for a variety of tasks, from cutting firewood to timber construction. It is available with a choice of bar lengths: 14 inch (35 cm), 16 inch (40 cm) or 18 inch (45 cm).

Low vibrations make this a comfortable saw to use

Because the MS 251 uses STIHL’s anti-vibration system, vibrations at the handles are significantly reduced as the engine’s oscillations are dampened before they can reach you. As well as this, a single-lever is used to house the machine’s master controls, so start, choke, throttle and stop are combined in one easy-to-access location. This makes the machine less tiring and less difficult to operate.

A wonderfully easy saw to operate

STIHL have taken the hassle out of topping up, as the fuel and oil tanks now have special catches on them that allow for easy opening and locking without the need for tools. Similarly, the decision has been made to locate the tensioning screw on the side of the chainsaw, through the sprocket cover. This removes the need for contact with the sharp saw chain. 

Robust & powerful

Using STIHL’s 2-MIX engine technology means this machine saves on emissions, and benefits from lower fuel consumption, compared to similar non-2-MIX machinery. It also benefits from the Ematic chain lubrication system, which ensures pinpoint lubrication of the saw chain links and guide bar to deliver longer wear and less oil consumption.
